Random

~ I suspect that the real reason Americans love 5 de mayo is that they're looking for one more reason to dis the French. Of course, there is also our burrito and taco infatuation. (Still looking -- can't find any Mexican food on Guam. Everything called "Mexican" seems to be made with Asian or island spices. Oh, well...) ¡Viva México! ¡Viva Juárez! ¡Viva la comida de México! Viva el 5 de mayo!
Mexican Coke
~ Costco in the Bay Area is doing an end-run around another giant by stocking Mexican Coke in their warehouse stores. Small neighborhood grocers specializing in Mexican have been doing the same for years. Now they have a source other than somebody's brother-in-law who always drives a van load up when he returns from Baja.

~ Small town Canadian store undercutting Wal-Mart by reselling goods purchased at Sam's Club. But are they actually making a profit doing so? I have serious doubts.

~ Paris Hilton is facing a 45-day jail sentence. I suspect that the judge is trying to send her a wake-up call -- encouraging her to embrace maturity.

~ How you say it is at least as important as what you say.

~ 200 skinny dipping Lutheran college students. Only by grace. Yes, ELCA.

~ The Agnus Day for tomorrow's Gospel text -- John 13:31-35
