~ The Russian Orthodox Church is about to heal a major long standing schism with roots in the rise of communism.

~ We were doing so well -- no power outages for at least two weeks -- although last night it hiccuped for a second. Tonight, however, it went dead for a little over an hour. Things are back to normal on Guam. :-)

~ Scot McKnight's blogging "formula" and one for being a college teacher. He could become a consultant.

~ The TNIV is the most undermarketed translation carried by a major publisher. Zondervan is sorta' trying to catch up and they have after about 40 years of wandering with this project updated their website. Still, where's the blog? Where are the links to the Mozilla TNIV add-on's? Where are the grassroots connections? The site just doesn't have much genuine buzz to it. And it looks like a bunch of Boomers are trying to pitch things to late teen & 20-somethings.

The TNIV is probably the best balanced general use translation available in English but the promotion has been and perhaps still is half-hearted. It is in danger of becoming an orphan.
