~ Eugene Cho is plugging the Covenant, mentioning many of the reasons that I like being a part of the extended family, too. I might add that there is flexibility and a "let's try it" attitude. So when Cheryl and I approached the Covenant World Mission people about going to Guam to teach Micronesian church leaders -- they gave it a green light -- even though the Covenant has never had a presence on the Micronesian islands.
~ No problem, Rich.

Biosphere 2~ Biosphere 2 has been sold. I suspect that eventually the giant terrarium will be converted into a club house and game center for a condo development -- complete with Putt-Putt golf course. That's my guess.

~ The porn industry mushroomed with the growth of the Internet. (With every good comes the potential for bad.) But the business has hit a wall and it starting to decline. Apparently the flattening affect of the medium has caught up with them. Too many amateurs are putting their home videos online -- eating into the profits of the big guys.

This doesn't mean that there is less smut out there -- only that people won't be able to get filthy rich off of it.

~ Scot McKnight is beginning a new discussion -- "What Is Worship?" Soup starter is James Torrance, great Scottish Trinitarian theologian.

~ Quotable: "If it is a sin to bore a child, it is an even greater sin to teach her that if something isn't entertaining it is worthless." Beth Bilynskyj

International Slackers~ No wonder Americans tend to see everyone else as slacking off. (via) They are!

~ Re: LA -- "English isn't the second language of choice anymore for some immigrants settling in the US. In the city that is home to the country's largest foreign-born population, many Spanish- and Korean-speaking immigrants are choosing to learn each other's language before they tackle English." Teaser for a pay to read WSJ article
