~ Al Jazeera recently ran a story on Guam's undisciplined football (soccer) team which hasn't won a game in the last 12 years.

~ Earlier in the month Al Jazeera ran an article on the military build-up on Guam. We could probably due with less Al Jazeera's ink. While they are not associated with the terrorists in the Middle East, the terrorist organizations have used them to channel their messages and seem to respond to their attention. Sometimes less is best.

~ Speak German first! "Germany's parliament has approved a new immigration law requiring non-European Union spouses to speak German before they can join their husbands or wives in the country."

~ Jim Swanson and the new Covenant committee on serving people with disabilities is the subject of a story on the Covenant website. Go Jim!

~ Typhoon Man-Yi is now clobbering Japan. It looks like Korea and China are next.

~ Surprise! GovGuam gets $21 million windfall. There goes the incentive for reform! There wasn't really much political will for change anyway. Business as usual.

~ Palau is hoping that taro wine will lead to a windfall for them. I suppose you can make wine out of most anything.

~ It just grows better out here -- the constant heat and consistent sunlight. The
only reason that Guam isn't leading the cannabis pack is that our soil isn't as rich as those other islands. Oh, well, we may have to figure out how to make money legitimately.

~ Re: Prayer hecklers. They're all wrong! The Hindu has got the theology wrong and the "Christians" have got the attitude wrong.
