It's interesting to see how the search engines process information. Since I started commenting on Tropical Storm Man-Yi (now Typhoon Man-Yi) which blew through here earlier this week the hits on the blog have shot up. (The same thing happened with the tsunamis a few years ago -- only more extreme then -- I still get hits looking for links to tsunami video.) It turns out that Google brings this site up as sixth for a "man-yi" search. (Yahoo brings it up as 31st.) What is it that makes this blog authoritative on this issue? Multiple posts? I don't know that anyone has linked to my Man-Yi posts. Who knows how these things work. Interesting, though.
BTW, a Chinese ship sank just northwest of Guam as a result of the storm. The US Navy and Coast Guard dispatched from Japan and Guam rescued 10 people but 12 others are missing.
