Doesn't add up -- does it?

Two days ago I bought a flat-bed scanner at a certain computer store on Guam. We had been looking for one and they aren't always available on island. So when I saw one I figured that I should get it -- ask Cheryl later if she was still interested in getting a new one -- if not, return it. No big deal. Right? Until I returned it today and they wanted to charge me a 20% restocking fee.

I haggled -- talked to the owner -- and he let me return the scanner in an unopened box for only 10%. The thing is that the $12 he got out of me to cover what he claims are his costs just cost him several thousand dollars of business that I had been throwing his direction with school equipment. Dumb.
