Followers

I've added the new Followers Google gadget to the bottom left column. When you become a follower of a blog you are telling "the blog's author and the world that you're a fan." (This medium does tend to feed the narcissism in us all.)

I see it as a chance to raise the visibility of blogs that belong to others -- and to show off their mugshots.

AND if that were not enough, if you sign up now, as a completely free bonus you can then "stay updated with this blog's posts on your Blogger Dashboard."

I think that "Followers" is Google's attempt to strengthen the social networking dimension of Blogger.
