~ Melissa is auditing my spiritual formation class and has a blog post on the experience. I took this picture on the first day of class last week. The students would look even more excited if the class were not at 8 a.m. Click on the picture, taken in the PIBC library, for an even bigger view. Any of them reading this post will be rewarded with the knowledge that there is a "surprise" quiz first thing Friday morning on the reading from the Jesus Creed.

~ I don't think he's ready to swim the Tiber but Keith Drury likes Catholics.

~ British couple living in a Travelodge for 22 years -- what a life!

~ Something new -- People with financial problems are risking the loss of their homes while doing everything to keep their credit cards current.

~ Melody gave me a sheet of fun quotes -- e.g. "If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it." Or, "It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others."

~ A new Chinese bishop has been ordained with the approval of BOTH the Vatican and the government. This suggests a warming of the relationship between both parties.

~ Also from Melissa, a post on the 70th anniversary of Spam - truly an island delicacy. I haven't really learned to appreciate all the local food, yet -- probably never.
