SPRING IN THE VALLEY
It was 74 degrees in Turlock today and our apricot tree responded appropriately (the weather people had predicted rain but the clouds failed to show up). Fortunately I had finished pruning on Tuesday because the bees own it right now. I worked on my sermon this morning but was able to put the shorts on and take a bike ride this afternoon. That was good therapy. However, the phone rang a short while ago with word that Marilyn Carlson died this evening. She had been struggling with cancer for several years and she wanted to return to Illinois to die. So, she and her husband Merlin, flew there on Thursday. The Carlsons have been a part of our congregation from the beginning and are both faithful servants of Christ. We will miss Marilyn but we are grateful that for her winter is over.
