• They've closed the main public library on Guam because of air conditioning problems. Last year it was closed for months because of similar issues. It's a part of a pattern. Building a library seemed like a good idea at the time -- so they somehow found the money to build the facility. But no one ever calculated that they'd actually have to be constantly maintaining it. So things run down and they have to shut down. Meanwhile the books continue to rot in the humidity.
